Do the Funky Chicken!

I'm a little embarrassed to say that this is a project I started....Ahem...10 years ago! It is a wool hooked rug kit, and i'm not sure why I didn't finish it? I must have been distracted by another lovely craft...this happens quite often.

I have always adored hooked rugs and wanted to try my hand at a small project before jumping right into making a Gi-normous rug. You know, the kind that sits in front of a lovely warm, glow, warmy-glowing fire? Well, this kit will have to satisfy for now. It makes a 12 x 12" Funky Chicken Rug. It will probably end up as another pillow on the couch, that will end up on the floor with the other 10 hundred pillows the Honey and kids throw down because there is no where to sit!

This Is How I Felt...

I've been busy over here making lots of felty things!

I made myself a special little treat (pincushion)! Doesn't this look good and scrumptious? A White Chocolate Orange Truffle Latte, with a rolled Pirouline cookie and a sweet piece of hand-stitched chocolate.

Yummy!

I also had a chance to make a little extra Christmas money, and gladly took the offer...3 custom felt stockings! A lot of handwork and beading went into these.

Thankful Felt Garland

Over the weekend I finished up my Thankful Felt Garland...just in time! It took a little longer than I thought. You know one of those projects you think you can do in a day (maybe you can), but after cutting and stitching each leaf and letter, and then adding buttons....whew!

It turned out so cute and festive, that I plan to keep it up until December 1st! I will not be tempted to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving (but that doesn't mean I am working on Christmas-y things). I am desperately trying to simplify and slow down, and enjoy each holiday to the fullest and not rush into the next. 

Speaking of working on things...I am working on a little tutorial for something Christmas-y! I hope to have it finished up today and up tomorrow.

Sewing In Between Life

In between doctors appointments, kids art club, laundry, living and everything else, I have been working on another doll! As with anything "New to Me", I have become addicted! While driving home from dropping the kids off at school I was feverishly writing all my ideas for dolls down in my notebook (yes Mom, while driving)! I knew if I waited until I got home they would be gone...my brain isn't as sharp as it used to be. This is just a peek...I am trying to finish up all the little details. I am so excited to show you my unique headpiece for her! Any guesses as to what it might be?

Also in the works is this felty Thanksgiving garland I found here. I thought it was really cute and great for working on while sitting in front of the T.V warm crackling fire! I found that digging through my felt bin I didn't have all the colors suggested, but that's okay...use what you have and make it Yours!
