I wish I could say that all this time away from blogging that I have been busily crafting and making wonderful things, but the truth is I was lying on the couch piled blanket after blanket trying to get warm because I had the FLU! Not just me though...all three of the kids had it as well. It came on without any warning and my poor daughter had to be taken to the ER at 3:00 AM with a 103 degree fever and crouping cough (she sounded a little like Darth Vader).
Everyone is better now, and to make up for the lost week we went to go see Where the Wild Things Are! What a wonderful and beautiful movie! Honey and I absolutely loved it, but the other kids were a little bored with it. It's not what I had expected it to be, and not as kid oriented as I thought. But nonetheless it was beautiful, quiet, thoughtful, and almost dream-like.
While I was down for a few days I had the chance to look at some of my books that have been piling up on the coffee table. I bought some of these a few weeks ago, and I am still savoring page after page not wanting the book to end.
#1. Quilting For Peace by Katherine Bell. This is the book I have wanted for so long! It is such a wonderful book about 'Making the World A Better Place One Stitch At A Time' by quilting for charities, or starting your own. This book is packed with amazing essays on everyday men and women who see a need in their communities and find a way to meet and comfort others. So inspiring! How many times have you wanted to "help" but aren't sure where or who to go to? This book has so many different types of charities that finding one that speaks to you isn't hard to find. Every project in the book is simple enough that anyone can do it. This book came out at just the right time, when the weather is getting colder and the Holidays are fast approaching.

#2. Sew Sunny Homestyle by Tone Finnanger. All I can say about this book is....Drooool! I would like one of everything in this book please! Every time I turn the page my heart does a little flutter. The dolls and forest animals are so charming. Check out Tildas World to find all the scrumptious fabrics and ribbons you'll need!
#3. The Small Object Labels & Stickers by Sarah Neuburger. Cute, Cute & Cute! That pretty much sums up this sticker book! Honey bought it for me as a surprise. He knew I wanted it because I sent him a *Hint* The girls have already been flipping through the book...I'd better hide it...or maybe I can play nice and share!
#4. Pictorial Webster's A Visual Dictionary of Curiosities by John M. Carrera. This was also a surprise from my Honey. It has over 1,500 engravings that originally graced the pages of Webster's dictionaries in the 19th century! Beautiful and stunning eye candy! Also, check out Pictorial Webster's Wall Cards and the Pictorial Webster's Stamp Set. I *Hinted* to Honey that I also needed these to complete the set...he just rolled his eyes! I'll just add it on to my Christmas Wish List!
Now that everyone is better, hopefully this week can return back to normal and I can get some serious sewing done!
