I finished my 2-Hour Cape...a day later. I suppose if you knew what you were doing and had made this pattern a few times you could actually have it cut and sewn together in 2 hours.
Anyhow, it's done and I LOVE IT!! It turned out so magnificent, and even a little "Twilight-esque", unintended of course.
My Honey was a little confused when I told him I was making a cape. He asked if he could try it on and to zoom around the house...he was picturing a super-hero cape!
The hood is nice and roomy, and I am so glad that I lined it with the red. I don't think it would have been as stunning with just the black. I love putting the hood on, because you instantly become secretive and mysterious. I was sitting at the kitchen table working on my computer last night all wrapped up in my cape, when my Honey came in and started laughing. I think he was just jealous!
I added these two frog closures to the front, and on the sides of the cape are snaps to create sleeves.
I have already got some requests from my girls for a cape, and with different colors and fabrics they would each turn out so unique.
I thought my picture of the full moon I took a few weeks ago was quite fitting to my post. Maybe this is what truly inspired the cape idea?
