I thought today I would show some of my favorite fabrics that I have picked up and that make my heart beat a little fast every time I see them!
While at Joann's the other night I spotted this lovely fabric, grabbed it, looked around to see if anyone else had seen it too, and held on to it as if my life depended on it! ( It can be ruthless at times...the fabric store)!
It's from the Alexander Henry Fabrics Collection called 'Birdseed'. It hadn't even been cut yet, still brand new on the bolt. Believe me, I wanted the whole bolt, but at $9 a yard......I could only buy 1 ( sniff * sniff). I don't know what I'm going to use it for, so for now, I will just keep it out on the table, so every time I walk past it I will smile!
I bought the last 3 yds. of this delicate floral fabric. There was a lady breathing down my neck standing behind me at the cutting table who asked if I was going to take it all. Hmmm...let me think...You bet I am! She didn't look to happy about it, but C'est la vie.
I immediately knew what I wanted to do with this, make the Market Bag from The Crafter's Companion by Anna Torborg. Now I just need to find a yummy market to go to!
My honey bought me 2 yds. of this Japanese Gingerbread Man fabric from Reprodepot for Christmas. I had been eyeing this for quite awhile and was so so excited when I opened my present.
I don't know what I want to use it for yet, and it is so cute that I might cry cutting into it!
Wow! I just realized that I think I like yellow... I picked this canvas fabric up in the clearance section for $2 ( I also got it in hot pink)! I want to make some of the Zip Pouches...
or the Artsy Clutch from Amy Karol's Bend- the-Rules Sewing.
Lastly, there is this cheerful little fabric I spied. It's orange and delicious looking, and makes my mouth water every time I look at it!
It reminds me of the candy orange slices you ate as a kid...well, and as an adult too! You will have to wait for next week to see what I am using this for.
Hope you have a great, and fun-filled 4th of July! Be safe and don't blow your arm off!! :)
