Sometimes I Feel Like Dr. Frankenstein

Doll-making has recently become an addiction hobby for me! I have only made a handful of dolls in my life, and really enjoyed making every single one of them. No matter how closely you follow the pattern, or how many times you have made the exact same doll, in the end each one has its own little personality! So here I sit working on another 'creation', when I start to realize that this process might look a little disturbing. I'm stuffing this and stuffing that and stitching on arms and legs and heads... and sometimes I feel like Dr. Frankenstein.

But instead of making hideous monsters.....

I can make the squishiest...

Nature Walk

Daddy's out of town, the kids are going bonkers, and I am about to pull my hair out! What to do?

Weeell, I guess we can go for a walk....outside. For those of you who know us, know that we are NOT  "Outside" people. We prefer a bug-free, dirt-free, temperature controlled area! I know, I know, how is this possible?

Anyways, the kids need to burn some energy, so out comes the sunscreen and all the "outside" paraphernalia. Into the car we go! I took the kids to a nature park close to our house. The last time we went there it was in the middle of the day in the middle of summer, bugs and bees flying everywhere, sweat, and dirt, and the sun...so needless to say it was miserable. This time the weather is supposed to be 67 degrees and slightly cloudy. I can handle that!

I just wanted to say one more 'Thanks' to Artful Blogging for their beautiful magazine! I decided to jump into this blogging world after reading (and drooling over) each and every inspiring story, and realized that I too can share my passions and experiences with others all over the world...AMAZING!

You were always told to only color on paper and never anything else right? Well, forget the rules! Get out your crayons everyone should have their own beautiful, perfectly arranged by color, sharp, unbroken crayons that are hidden away deep in a secret hiding place that the kids don't know about, and try this fun embroidery project. I learned this technique in this book Vintage Tinted Linens* Quilts.

This book is packed with wonderful and charming patterns. It was difficult to decide which one to start, but when I saw this lovely Roaring 20's Portrait Potholder I couldn't resist.
